The web publication is built and designed to be placed and shown through a web server, for example, Microsoft IIS or Apache http Server. We recommend that the published material is placed on a web server since this results in optimal performance when the end-user when visiting the publication in a browser.
The web publication can also be shown directly from a disk, for example, C: or a corporate network disk with a device name such as G:. Cloud-based services for file storage, such as Dropbox, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive can be used to share a publication between users, but not to show the published material directly from the cloud-based service. These services usually don’t offer a webserver service. A web publication can also be shown in SharePoint Online, but we recommend that the published material is put on a web server outside SharePoint Online and then shown through an iFrame or something similar.
